I was diagnosed 11 years ago. I had a lump but it wasn't palpaple. They did a stereotactic biopsy which came back negative. A few months later I felt a lump in that area but attributed it to scar tissue. Since I go yearly for a mammogram I wasn't in any hurry . At my annual check-up I told them about the lump. Sure enough it was on the mammogram big as life. I had a lumpectomy done and it came back stage 3. A week later I had a lymphectomy and that was negative. I did radiation and took Tamoxiphen. Now I am cancer free and go yearly for checkups. Every now and then I see the surgeon and he still can't get over the fact that this sophisticated test came back negative. Now he checks and double checks his patients.
